KBH out

Per the Houston Chronicle, U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison announced today that she will run for a third Senate term, ending months of speculation that she would challenge Texas Gov. Rick Perry for the Republican nomination in 2006.

Looks like a Strayhorn - Perry matchup...

I'm curious: didn't she say that she was only going to serve two Senate terms?

If so, that makes her the second Washington Republican to announce that they'd be breaking their promise of 2 terms and be running for another in 2006 (the other senator is Conrad Burns of Montana).

She did indeed say that. Though I'm sure now some of her supporters will say her comments were misconstrued by a callous and oppositional media.

You know, the ones representing the Lollipop Guild.
