The Gibbs Report - M.D. Final Edition

Click for larger image.

I received the four page The Gibbs Report today and thought for sure this was a joke, but I told my wife wait a minute...this is Shelley Sekula Gibbs. Anyway she pledges, while her time in Congress (one holiday week), to work for Conservative values before the real Congressman, Nick Lampson, takes the seat he won a month ago. Seriously, she plans to take on issues such as tax cuts, securing our borders, Nasa, Ellington Field, medical reform and the uninsured while you and I are opening Christmas presents and getting drunk with family. We are so proud of you Shelley...this is money well spent as long as it's not money that belongs to my district.

Shelley, here is to wishing you a Merry Christmas and many more laughs from you,our lovable congress-woman over this holiday. cheers!

Gov. Rick Perry: Texan of the year - Ha!

Certainly not my Texan of the year and I have yet to meet anyone today who disagrees with me. But if you a have room full of so called non-partisan kiss asses anything is possible. The Texas Legislative Conference submitted a press release of their selection today:
Governor Rick Perry has been named Texan of the Year by the Texas Legislative Conference, according to conference Advisory Committee chair Robert Howden.

Perry will be presented the award on Friday, March 23, at the conclusion of the 41st event. He will be joining an array of prominent past honorees since 1974 that includes First Lady Laura Bush, President George W. Bush, Barbara Jordan and Lloyd Bentsen.

The Governor has also offered a visionary transportation plan know as the Trans-Texas Corridor which will be a topic of the conference on March 23. In addition, passage this past summer of property tax reform was led by Perry and will also be a panel topic discussion at the conference.
Visionary transportation plan known as the Trans-Texas Corridor? More like visionary land grab of the people!

Tell that to the farm and home owners of Texas.

Only in Texas this does this kind of absurdity continue to happen.

Perfect timing

What timing. I decided to cash a check at this bank yesterday instead of this morning. As Sugar Land becomes the not so quite town of past, I'm afraid we'll alot more this.

Sugar Land police are hoping the public will recognize a bank robber who was caught on camera Tuesday morning.

If you recognize this man, call the Sugar Land Police Department.

The suspect held up the Chase Bank at 2455 State HIghway 6 around 9 a.m.

Witnesses say he waved a silver pistol, ordered everyone to the floor and demanded money.

He left with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen running toward the Carrabba's parking lot.

The suspect is described as 5 foot 8 inches tall, weighing between 180 and 190 pounds.

He wore a stocking cap and glasses.

New poll: worse results for the The Decider

A new poll is out and seems to be the case with every new poll, the situation for the boy wonder keeps getting worse and worse.

62% disapprove of the way Bush is handling his job as president. His highest disapproval rating to date.

42% approval handling terrorism.

41% approval handling economy.

28% approval handling the situation in Iraq. That's 70% disapproval! And the fucktard continues to tie this mess with the war on terror as he did again today in what some would call a speech.

67% oppose the war in Iraq. another all-time high.

11% support sending more troops to Iraq. Makes you wonder what the The Decider needs more time to think about for the new way forward or whatever his catch phrase of the month is. People are just sick and tired of this shit.

66% want changes made as soon as possible and not to wait wait several weeks before making those changes. This one is one that has me scratching my head. Wait until early next year for a new plan as many more of troops are badly injured or killed. Disgraceful!

Now as the Democrats take control of both houses in January, how will they take control of GW Bush? Only time will tell.

Meaninless poll interesting results

Polls like this are crap this early in the game but the results are interesting. I not particularly excited at all about any of these candidates except possibly Obama. There is much talent in the Democratic party so expect other exciting candidates enter this race. Only 11% of Americans support sending more troops to Iraq which McCain is pushing for at this moment. This can't be helping his situation but who cares. I say let him keep proposing this nonsense and if Bush does go along with more troops as I think he will, McCain will have a difficult time getting past the primaries in 08.
Newsweek Poll conducted by Princeton Survey Research Associates International. Dec. 6-7, 2006. N=864 registered voters nationwide. MoE ± 4

"Now I'm going to describe some different choices of candidates voters might have in the 2008 election for president. As I read each one, please tell me how you would vote if the election for president were being held today. Suppose you HAD TO CHOOSE between [see below], the Democrat, and [see below], the Republican. Who would you vote for?" If other/unsure: "As of TODAY, do you LEAN more toward [see below], the Democrat; or [see below], the Republican?"

Clinton 50%--43% McCain
Clinton 48%--47% Giuliani
McCain 45%--43% Obama
Giuliani 47%--44% Obama

Our fault for waiting on an idiot to decide

Absolutley pathetic

Tom the prison blogger?

From The Hill:
The Hill: How does our ongoing legal battle with Ronnie Earle fit into this?

DeLay: I have no idea. We’re going to test the waters. Since I’ve been out of Congress I’ve been absolutely amazed at how supportive people have been. And also how hateful others have been. In fact, yesterday we were up on the blog for just an hour and we had over a hundred comments of the most nasty comments.100 comments that were just mean, nasty and vulgar. They used the Ronnie Earle thing saying I ought to be in prison being raped by somebody. You know, that kind of stuff, when they have no clue what the Ronnie Earle thing is and I’ve been indicted for rules that don’t even exist. But that doesn’t seem to bother the left, I’ve been convicted, I’m in prison and being raped.

Hey Tom, you want to practice picking up soap.

Cheney a Bum Steer

Kind words by Texas Monthly.

Welcome Ciro!

"I am thrilled to welcome Ciro D. Rodriguez back to Congress. He is a man of great integrity and intellect and will serve with honor and distinction in the House of Representatives, as he has before.

"Ciro's story is the American story. Coming to America at a young age from Mexico, he faced the struggles that many immigrants face. However, with his characteristic tenacity and perseverance, he overcame them to become a dedicated public servant.

"During his time in Congress, Ciro was a champion for our nation's veterans and a voice for fiscal responsibility. He was an able chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. His victory last night is another opportunity for him to work on behalf of all Americans, not just the privileged few. He is committed to progressive values and will be a powerful voice for America's working families.

"The people of San Antonio have joined Americans from coast to coast in sending a clear message to Washington: it is time for a New Direction." - Nancy Pelosi

Another poll another all-time low

Meanwhile our president needs more time to decide what to do with Iraq.

See poll.

Tom Delay and 75 minutes of blogging fame

What has Tom been up to lately you ask? Well it appears he has this idea of being a blogger of the people for the people. This is what he has to say at his new tomdelay.com:
The importance of the blogosphere in shaping and motivating the current conservative movement is unquestionable- not only has it served as an important tool in breaking through the liberal MSM clutter but it has helped to keep our elected officials true to principle.

This blog is meant to further the online discussion in the marketplace of ideas.
Eek! Spooky huh? Well his blogging attempt is short lived (75 minutes) after his first post was abruptly removed due to the huge response from his raving fans. His first post went something like this:
I have created this blog in order to provide Americans with a new meeting place where such opinions and viewpoints might be better shared, discussed and debated; a place where conservative and traditionalist Americans might speak truth to power and to one another.

In all honesty, I did not fully realize the impact or potential of the blogosphere until very recently, when Red State gave me the opportunity to post some of my observations in the wake of the recent midterm elections.
Thanks to James he was able to save the post with all 111 comments before it was removed. You may have to wait awhile...the popularity of this post is more than Blogger can handle.

America has spoken!!

Stay the Course

Doesn't work for the Houston Texans, either.

Five editorials say Bush worst president ever...or close to it

The Washington Post debates this point with five editorials that pretty much say he sucks the big one. What is there to debate? Truth Serum has been saying this for years!
Five op-eds in Sunday's Washington Post may set off an intriguing debate, pro and con. On the front page of the Post's Outlook section, famed Columbia University historian Eric Foner proposes George W. Bush as the worst president in our history -- and author Douglas Brinkley disagrees, but very slightly: He thinks Bush only ranks as poorly as Herbert Hoover.

Another historian, David Greenberg, believes that only Nixon was worst. Meanwhile, Michael Lind pegs Bush at #5 --from the bottom. But Vincent J. Cannato, a historian at the University of Massachusetts, cautions: "Today's pronouncements that Bush is the 'worst president ever' are too often ideology masquerading as history."

The Washington Post editorial page, ironically, has been a strong backer of the Iraq war from the beginning.

Only daddy can save me now.
